Experience Philippe Karl in Fintel!

Experience the founder of the School of Légèreté, School of Lightness to learn more about this riding philosophy. In January 2012, Philippe Karl will be visiting Fintel in Northern Germany again for two 3-day advanced training courses for the licensed instructors of the School of Légèreté.

   
About Légèreté

    
The founding principle of the School of Légèreté is the absolute respect of the horse. Légèreté (French: lightness) is the philosophy of bringing together clear, effective and measurable equestrian concepts.
The philosophy of Légèreté excludes any use of force or coercive artificial aids (including side reins, draw reins, tightly closed nosebands etc.), but includes all types of horse and takes an interest in all equestrian disciplines. It provides an understandable and reliable training plan with clear principles, efficient methods and procedures that fully respect the nature of the horse.
The School of Légèreté takes its inspiration from the masters who have contributed to this equestrian philosophy like Xenophon, La Guérinière, Baucher etc. It is based on in-depth knowledge of the horse and is ready to re-analyse and improve itself with all types of progress in this respect (anatomy, physiology, locomotion, balance, psychology, ethology).
Lastly it has the aim of getting the best from any horse and fulfilling the rider through the constant search for efficiency via the minimum use of means.

Language:
Philippe Karl gives his lessons in English and will be supported by a professional translator, Ms Schürfer, who speaks English and German fluently.

Costs/ fee for participation:

Listeners, who want to participate for one day   50 €

Listeners, who want to participate for one day with theory   70 €

Listeners, who want to stay for two days     100 €

Listeners, who want to stay for three days   130 €

Transportation:
There are 3 airports nearby: Hamburg, Hannover and Bremen.

But: Hamburg is the worst case - because of the traffic.

The two latter ones are most convenient. From there, you can either take a hire car or contact us (beforehand) to find out about possibilities of picking you up.

Accommodation:
We can help you to arrange accommodation in and around Fintel.

Food & Refreshments:
During the course, there will be plenty to eat and drink. We’ll serve hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, cakes and soups as well as lunch to ensure you enjoy those long days.
